The gift is a formal contract. The form in which this contract is concluded can be written or real. The form of the gift contract mostly depends of the subject of the gift. If immovable property is given away, in that case the contract must be concluded in writing and certified by a competent notary. When it comes to movable things, it is enough that the thing is handed over to the recipient. The contracting parties can subsequently reduce the concluded gift contract (by concluding the Annex to the gift contract), in case they have decided to change the content of the contract on a certain part.
